Yates Industries was founded in Detroit in 1972. They began as a distributor of fluid power products and a repair facility for the fluid power industry. After acquiring a packing and seal company Yates moved to a larger facility in St. Clair Shores. In 1975 a cylinder division was created to provide heavy duty NFPA cylinders and in the late 70’s the line was expanded to include both medium duty hydraulic and steel pneumatic products.
During the next few years Yates purchased 3 honing companies, incraesing their ability to economically repair cylinders. With new CNC machines and the introduction of their hydraulic and pneumatic Mill Cylinder line as well as their Aluminum series NFPA cylinder lines, Yates has expanded their abilities to serve their customer base even farther.
In 1988 they moved to a 100,000+ square foot facility allowing all units to operate under one roof. Yates is also ISO 9001: 2000 certified and offers some of the best warranties in the business. They have recently opened another facility in Decatur, Alabama and continue to grow and expand to meet the ever changing needs of the manufacturing industry.
